Two more champions have emerged from the season online poker major and bagged themselves prizes worth more than $1 million.
With the tournament operators moving their products online due to coronavirus, there’s been plenty of accolades up for grabs in recent weeks.
Two players that seized their opportunity to win big this week were schimmelgodx and Justin Bonomo. The former is now the WSOP Online Super Circuit main event champion, while the latter took top spot in the Super High Roller Bowl Online.
German Grinder Gets WSOP Online Title
First to step onto the podium and pick up a title was schimmelgodx. The German grinder came through a field of 9,779 players in the $1,000 WSOP Online Super Circuit main event on GGPoker.
Multiple starting flights ensured the number of survivors returning for Day 2 on May 31 was manageable. Indeed, with 1,494 players in the mix and 1,196 prizes up for grabs, the early action was intense.
In fact, it took less than 30 minutes for the bubble to burst. Then, by the third hour of play, just 200 players remained. Schimmelgodx was always there or there about but it wasn’t until the final throes that they found their rhythm.
Coming from behind with three left, schimmelgodx ousted Igutu before taking out Biereux.

Bonomo Bags Third Super High Roller Bowl Title
With another winner crowned, it was time for poker’s elite to see out the Super High Roller Bowl Online. Taking place on Partypoker, the $102,000 event attracted 50 entrants, meaning the $3 million guarantee was pushed to $5 million.
An opening day of play reduced the field to 13 and Ali Imsirovic was the man out in front when the betting began. However, it was Bonomo who would end the day on top.
Stepping on the gas with five left, the 2018 Super High Roller Bowl champion played executioner alongside Michael Addamo. These two would eventually compete for the inaugural Super High Roller Bowl Online title.
As it was in the WSOP Online Super Circuit main event, the new champion had to come from behind to win. A quick double-up for Bonomo swung the match and it wasn’t long after that he got the job done.

As the final pot slid across to Bonomo, he pocketed the $1.7 million top prize and his third Super High Roller Bowl title.
