The latest MTT results are coming thick and fast as poker’s elite fight for the latest WPT and SCOOP titles online.
Following on from the latest batch of winners, Nicolas Chouity and Simon Ravnsbæk have bagged SCOOP honors.
As those two were picking up six-figure prizes on PokerStars, Sam Greenwood was taking charge in the WPT Online Championship over at Partypoker.
Nicolas Chouity Secures SCOOP Title
For Chouity, a win in the $1,050 PLO Six-Max Main Event was good for $154,039. The three-day tournament attracted 1,112 players, which meant the $750,000 prizepool was easily breached.
With $1,112,000 up for grabs, as well as a PokerStars SCOOP title, the final flurry of action was a tense affair. As well as a host of tough unknowns, familiar names such as Adam Owen and Ignat Liviu were among the 18 that returned for Day 3.
At this point, Chouity was 12th in chips and facing an uphill battle. However, as the cards were dealt on May 19, he gradually worked his way up the chip counts. By the time Liviu had been eliminated, it was Chouity’s time to shine.
With six left, he took out magiet12 with a set of kings. That was the spark he needed to kick on. As a previous winner of the EPT Grand Final, the Lebanese pro knows how to perform on the big stage.
Content to sit back and let BomPang do all the work in the latter stages, Chouity entered the heads-up battle facing a 4:1 deficit. Despite that fact, he was confident enough to decline an unfavorable deal.
That decision proved to be the right one as he was able to quickly claw back the difference. Two quick double ups put him in control before it was over a few hands later.
BomPang moved all-in with pocket nines but it was another pair of kings that would get the job done for Chouity. With the board offering BomPang little help, the final pot was pushed towards the 2010 EPT champion, who now has a SCOOP title to his name.
$1,050 PLO Six-Max Main Event Result
1 – Nicolas Chouity – $154,039
2 – BomPang – $146,539
3 – Bagrovui – $86,938
4 – Mathias Joelsson – $60,990
5 – Adam Owen – $42,787

7 – Ignat Liviu – $23,657
Just as Chouity was winning his first SCOOP title of 2020, Ravnsbæk was scooping May 18’s biggest prize.
The Danish pro came beat beagel3 to top a field of 11,933 players in the $215 Phase Event. That victory not only earned Ravnsbæk his second SCOOP title but $225,009.
Elsewhere online, Sam Greenwood was making waves in the WPT Online Championship. A field of 2,130 players assembled for the $3,200 main event over the course of four starting days.
That meant the $5 million guarantee put up by Partypoker and the WPT was soundly beaten. With $6.3 million on the line, Greenwood moved into overdrive.
Rising up through the ranks, he surpassed the likes of Max Silver and Pascal Hartmann to end Day 2 with the chip lead. The Canadian now starts the final day (May 20) as the favorite for the title.
However, with nine other pros fighting for WPT glory, his position at the top is by no means secure.
