Vanessa Kade has become the latest pro to join Americas Cardroom, following in the footsteps of Chris Moneymaker who joined in February.
Kade came from the video games industry where she worked as a producer for companies such as Disney Interactive Studios. In addition to $142,000+ in tournament earnings, she’s cash game player with a penchant for Twitch streaming.
However, some people will know her as the person who took aim at GGPoker and its relationship with Dan Bilzerian. That saga came to a head recently but Kade’s deal with ACR is the start of a new chapter in her career.
Another Addition to Team ACR
Americas Cardroom announced the news on March 18. Alongside a welcome tweet, the US-facing poker room added Kade’s bio to its Team ACR page.
The Canadian has said she’s looking forward to representing the company at various live events, including the upcoming WPT Florida.
She’s also going to be streaming her online sessions via Twitch and connecting with the community in various ways.
One point she was eager to stress in her own announcement was that the deal has been 12 months in the making. Although her name has been in the headlines for criticizing GGPoker and Dan Bilzerian, that isn’t the reason Americas Cardroom signed her.

Some members of the poker community have still used this as a way to criticize Kade. However, the positive comments greatly outweigh any negativity from the haters.
CONGRATULATIONS! YOU DESERVE THIS!

Americas Cardroom has had a team of sponsored pros for a while. Jonathan Van Fleet is arguably the best known but the recent signing of Kade and Moneymaker signals a new phase in its existence.
Americas Cardroom Bolsters Its Position
Although it remains something of an outlier in the industry due to the fact it doesn’t have a US gaming license, its popular has surged over the last 12 months.
By offering non-traditional payment options to US players, ACR doesn’t contravene UIGEA. That means it’s not technically doing anything illegal.
Under this assumption, it has upped the ante in recent years. As well as offering payouts in Bitcoin, the site’s flagship MTT, Venom, has paid out top prizes worth more than $1 million.
That’s an impressive feat for any online poker site and the main reason Americas Cardroom has gained mainstream acceptance.
Singing 2003 WSOP Main Event champion Chris Moneymaker has helped increase its popularity in the last few weeks.
Kade can add to this and, in turn, help combat what she sees as misogyny in the game by encouraging more women to join Americas Cardroom.
