The recent surge of innovations from Partypoker have continued to flow in recent days thanks to the operator adding more pros and countries to its portfolio.
Following the formation of Partypoker Team Online in February, the operator has added three more names to its roster. The latest pro to line up alongside Hristivoje Pavlovic and Matt Staples is Courtney Gee.
The first female member of the team, Gee is a science graduate from the University of British Columbia and an avid Twitch streamer. In poker terms, she plays a combination of 18-max and six-max sit & gos as well as hyper turbo heads-up tournaments.
Although her résumé is quite as extensive as some of her teammates just yet, Gee’s presence on Twitch plays into Partypoker’s current PR strategy. In fact, the same is true of the brand’s other new recruits, Alan Widmann and Ryan Schoonbaert.
Both Twitch personalities in their own right, the pair currently stream their online exploits to more than 300,000 followers. Between this and Gee’s subscribers, Partypoker is aiming to reach almost 500,000 gamers via its new trio of pros.
“The creation of the team forms part of a wider company strategy earmarked for the following weeks and months with the focus on streaming quality, engaging content across partypoker’s main Twitch channel,” reads the February 26 post on Partypoker’s blog.
As well as using the Team Online to increase its presence on Twitch, Partypoker is planning a number of initiatives. Alongside Bill Perkin’s Thirst Lounge, which provides a glimpse inside the life of a baller, the poker site is set to host a series of high stakes cash games.
By inviting some of the top online pros to take part, Partypoker hopes to stream the action and recreate the buzz Full Tilt’s nosebleed tables used to generate.
With these list of innovations growing, the poker brand has also announced a licensing agreement with King’s Resort.
By partnering with the parent company of WSOPE home King’s Casino Rozvadov, Partypoker will become the second operator to acquire an online gaming license in the Czech Republic.
Access to a new country and a burgeoning team of Twitch-savvy ambassadors bodes well for Partypoker’s push to challenge the supremacy of PokerStars.
The two operators have been engaged in an unspoken battle over the last few months, with the former getting the upper-hand in a number of departments.
Although the war is far from over, it’s clear Partypoker is eager to push the pace. By bolstering its reserves, the operator is not only closing the gap on its rival but providing more value for players across the industry.
