The 2018 World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) schedule has been set and this year there will be 10 bracelets up for grabs and at least €13 million ($15 million) in prize money.
Buoyed by the first WSOPE heled in the Czech Republic’s Kings Casino Rozvadov, the organizers have pledged to return this fall with an even bigger festival. Following an initial announcement in April, WSOP Executive Director Ty Stewart confirmed the full schedule on June 11.
Kicking things off on October 9 will be the €550 ($647) Colossus which will feature eight starting flights and a $1.1 million guarantee. From there, the schedule boasts a variety of Hold’em and Omaha tournaments with buy-ins designed to suit all levels.
The jewels in the crown of the 2018 WSOPE will be the Main Event and Super High Roller. The latter will cost $117,765 and feature some of the biggest names in poker.
Although the event didn’t feature in the 2017 WSOPE, the world’s best did compete in the $130,000 High Roller for One Drop. On that occasion, 132 buy-ins were collected, which meant Germany’s Dominik Nitsche took home the lion’s share of a $12 million+ prizepool.
When the latest event gets underway on October 26, it will not only offer unlimited rebuys but a prizepool of at least $5.8 million. In a similar vein, the WSOPE Main Event will also offer a $5.8 million guarantee as well as two starting flights and a re-entry format.
As well as the WSOPE, a WSOP Circuit event will also be taking place inside the casino. Getting underway on September 20, the small stakes festival will add another $2 million+ to the guaranteed prizepool and giveaway a selection of WSOP Circuit rings before the WSOP antics come to a close on November 5.
As well helping to organize the richest poker festival in Europe, Kings Casino Rozvadov owner Leon Tsoukernik wants visiting players to enjoy themselves both on and off the felt.
“We hope everyone who came last year comes back for our warm hospitality and generous offerings, and for those who missed out, please join us for Europe’s biggest poker event of the year,” Tsoukernik said in the June 11 press release.
