The World Series of Poker (WSOP) might be slightly different this year but it’s business as usual for Daniel Negreanu. Ahead of the online event, Kid Poker is willing to bet $1 million that he’ll bag a bracelet.
Negreanu is famous for his bracelet bets and he’s not letting covid-19 dampen his spirits.
Even though the WSOP will take place online, he’s willing to back himself against what are likely to be large fields on WSOP.com and GGPoker.
Negreanu Continues WSOP Tradition
Looking for action:
I’ll take 2.5 to 1 that I win a WSOP bracelet in 2020
Either:
online at https://t.co/tOa6L4yo0q or@GGPokerOfficial
Or, if there is a live WSOP this fall.
Tough to win against huge online fields.
Will bet up to $1 million. pic.twitter.com/BKXcGXWTei

The bracelet bet is as much as a chance for Negreanu to win some cash as it is a push for the WSOP. As a GGPoker ambassador, the Canadian has a vested interest in the series as it will be run in conjunction with his sponsor.
Of course, that’s not to say he wouldn’t have made the bet otherwise. Negreanu’s WSOP challenges have become an annual occurrence. If he’s not betting that he’ll win a bracelet, he’s cross-booking action with other pros or offer a piece of his action to fans.
This year, he’s willing to accept odds of 2.5:1 that he’ll win a bracelet on WSOP.com or GGPoker.com. Alternatively, if the WSOP is able to host a live event this year, he’ll extend the bet to include that as well.
Negreanu’s announcement is another sign that some sort of normality is returning to poker. Coronavirus has ravaged the live poker scene over the last three months, but the prospect of some side action show that players are just as enthused about the WSOP as ever.
Online Action Continues as Live Poker Makes Return
Be that as it may, live poker is returning. King’s Casino Rozvadov in the Czech Republic just announced a new tournament schedule, while casinos in the US are following suit.
However, as it stands, conditions in Las Vegas still aren’t conducive to live tournaments. In lieu of returning to Sin City, the WSOP has extended its partnership with GGPoker.
The two recently hosted the first online Circuit series. The partnership was as success by all measures as guarantees were broken and WSOP bling was distributed to players. The World Series of Poker 2020 Online will build on this and feature 85 bracelet events.
To ensure players in the US have an opportunity to participate, 54 MTTs will take place on WSOP.com’s North American network from July 1. Just before the action wraps up on July 31, the first of 19 bracelet events will take place on GGPoker.
The second stage of the festival will be open to international players and run until September 6. As a GGPoker ambassador, Negreanu will participate in both legs of WSOP. That will give him the best possible chance of winning and bracelet and, if anyone accepts his bet, a seven-figure sum in side bets.
